About This Print

A night scene of the coast of Izumo, composed entirely of stunning blues. There is a small tear in the bottom left corner in the margins that does not affect the print itself. The print is currently framed with archival matting and museum-quality glass.

From The Collector

I happened upon this print while scouring the web for Hasui prints. At the time, my fascination with Hasui was taking over, and I was trying to find any gallery that may have a print to see what I could find. I came across this one, and the blues captivated me. It was an uncommon print I had not yet seen.

This piece happened to come with a small card from a Japanese Print dealer, dated October 15, 1934, to a Miss Cochran, providing the name of the artist, as well as the name of the shop, owned by Roy Vernon Sowers, a promintent rare book dealer. This little card gives just a bit more uniqueness to the piece.

Purchased from The Annex Galleries, Santa Rosa, CA.
