From The Collector

The first image is courtesty of Verne Gallery, where the piece was purchased from.

This was the very first woodblock print I collected. Many aspects drew me to this print: the tranquility, the beauty, memories I had from hiking in Colorado toting a backpack, getting lost in my thoughts and admiring the world around me.

We went to Japan in September/October 2024, and when we were looking for places to visit, Nikko popped into my head. I didn't know much about the region, but as I researched, it became a must-see stop. Nikko is a quiet place, although a popular destination given the UNESCO World Heritage temples and shrines located here. The Shinkyo Bridge, another site depicted in many works, is also located here.

Provenance

Purchased from the Verne Gallery in Cleveland, OH.
